In order to distinguish the Muslim Ummah from other people, the Prophet (PBUH) advised Muslims to fast the 9th Muharram in addition to the 10th of Muharram.
All brothers and sisters are encouraged to also fast on 9th or 11th Muharram, in addition to 10th of Muharramانشاءالله
