Fundraising Policy and Procedure

Purpose

To provide comprehensive fundraising criteria and guidelines in the spirit of ICP mission and constitution, to promote the Islamic Center operation and to protect its viability.

Policy

ICP may provide venues and premises for fundraising to legitimate charitable entities that qualify as public charities under section 501 (c) (3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code, at the sole discretion of the ICP board.

The fundraising would be for community building project, social services, educational projects, natural disasters and catastrophes.

Fundraising preference will be for the ICP, Peoria Area Muslim Community, State of Illinois and the United States Muslim Community Projects.

Procedure:

• Fill/sign the attached form
• E-mail the form with the tax exemption letter to the president and secretary**
• A response will be sent to the organization within 2-4 weeks
• Send a confirmation e-mail 7 days before the fundraising date

Guidelines:

• Friday prayer starts at 1:15 pm and concludes by 1:50pm
• The fundraiser may be requested to present his ID
• Donation in the form of checks or debit/credit will be directly handed over
• All cash donations will be collected and a check will be mailed later with the exact cash amount collected during and after the fundraising
