We pray that this message finds you in the best of iman and health.
ICP would like to clarify a recent communication regarding the non-renewal of Imam Salman’s contract.
ICP made the decision not to renew Imam Salman’s contract after completion of his 2 year term on August 31st, and informed him of this decision two months prior to his contract’s conclusion.
Following that discussion, Imam Salman requested that the reasons for the non-renewal of his contract be shared with the community as is.
Upon reflection, the Executive Committee and Advisory Board, after receiving feedback from members of the community, recognize that sharing those reasons was not the appropriate course of action.
While the community should have been informed of the non-renewal decision, the details surrounding that decision should not have been disclosed out of respect for Imam Salman’s dignity and the esteemed role of the Imam position.
We thank Imam Salman for his service, dedication, and contributions to ICP over the past two years, and we appreciate his efforts on behalf of our community. We wish him all the best in the new job he is starting in September.
We ask Allah (SWT) to grant Imam Salman and our community khair and blessings in this dunya and the aakhirah.
